ABOUT US

Possum Killer Garage is all about real Hot Rods that get driven, and used.
It’s all about enjoying your Hot Rod by,  driving it, doing as much work as you can on it, and building it
to satisfy yourself and not someone else’s idea of cool.

We want to build safe cool cars, but not necessary perfect cars that are scared of a rock chip, or dirt
under the wheel wells. Who cares about trophies, it’s about the ride.

What Is A Possum Killer

Well it all started with my 46 Ford Pick-Up (See Shop Tour) my wife and I were on our way to a Rod
Run and Lo-&-Behold we encounter a Mississippi Possum who proceeded to walk directly in front of
our very low grill work. BOOM!!! After the impact I thought no need to look at the damage now let’s
just get there. Upon arriving at our destination we discovered much of the offender still stuck in the
grill, much to our surprise.

In less than two months a repeat performance happened, which left blood and possum hair all over
the front of the truck, plus some bent grill bars. At this point the Possum Killer name was born and
stuck. From there it has become a Hot Rod attitude. If a car had a low front end, and lot’s of bug
juice, rock pecks, or primer spots it became labeled a Possum Killer.

Possum Killer is a mindset of enjoying your Hot Rod even if it means some bumps and scraps along
the way. It’s about a practical, good-looking Hot Rod, and we don’t mean a Trailer Queen, but a car
that has some personality, individual character. Weather it’s a Rat Rod, Finished Paint Rod, or
somewhere in between as long as it’s fun, SAFE !!!  and  DRIVEN!!!

Motor Heads unite and become a Possum Killer!!
Get you HOT ROD on the street and drive it !!
IT'S A CAR or TRUCK DESIGNED TO BE DRIVEN, SO DRIVE IT
Personal Bio on
Possum Killer Sr.
I am a person who has been blessed with not only two wonderful children, but an
amazing wife who loves and supports my efforts in life. I showed an interest in
cars from an early age. My mom told me I learned my colors from looking at
Mustangs and naming their colors as we drove down the road. I Had one
grandfather that worked for General motors all of his life and one, that spite a
2nd grade education was one of the smartest men I ever knew and taught me the
value of hard work.  I Have been fortunate to have grown up with parents that
allowed me to enjoy cars and helped support my interest by keeping an old car
around for me to experiment on. I remember the first car I painted was an old
1968 volkswagon my dad sold me. I sprayed it in the back yard on concrete blocks
with John Deere yellow equipment enamel. It was cool to me and that was all that
mattered then and now. My fate was set from there and I have always had some
project in the works since then. Well to make a long story short there have been
many many hotrods from then until now, but most important is I did them with my
family. When my wife and I had our children I had a dream to build a car with
each one of them, you know something we could spend time together on, learn
about each other, give them confidence through experiance that they could do
anything. It also taught them to work with their hands something that is lacking in
most of todays kids. Hotrods, to me, are more than personal expression or a way
to show how much money you can spend. Hotrods kept me safe as a young person,
when every one else was out getting into drugs and drinking I was home working on
a car. My money was invested in something other than cigarettes and beer. They
have helped pay the bills, created a bonding relationship with my children, given my
wife and I many miles of quality time together and introduced us to some of the
best friends in the world. I hope you enjoy the following pages of Hotrods and
remember they are more than just cars, they are a blessing from God above, that
have allowed me enjoyment, but have taught me many lessons about life. Hotrods
are great when kept in there proper place. My only hope is that people will learn
to enjoy there cars, but they are that, just cars, never allow them to get in the
way your family or most important your relationship with Christ. Hotrods can be a
wonderful blessing in life or a tremendous burden,  it is your choice.
I would like to share one thought.
My life verse is Psalm 37:4 which says delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you
the desires of your heart.
What this means to me is that you do not serve God to get material things or rewards
in return, but when you keep him first in your life, he allows you to enjoy things or
hobbies that become tools to learn by, grow relationships by, and shine his light to
others by. That is where Hotrods fit in my life.
