The hot rods seen here started as real cars except the T-bucket. PKG converted them into custom store displays for a national fireworks retailer. The 1937 fire truck was completley hollowed out to make room for recessed storage compartments. the hood and grill shell was converted into a seperate product cart. The truck still rolls and has hidden steering for easy movement. window glass was replaced with mirror. Color is Viper Red. The 1948 Jeep recieved the same treatment with smooth floor pans installed, a smooth engine bay for product display. all interior surfaces were sprayed with bedliner to match the turqoise exterior. it still retains functional steering. The car to the right started life as a Saab all fiberglass car. PKG was asked to design a futuristic, back to the future style car. The doors hood and deck are all molded shut. Front and rear are all scratch built from fiberglass in house. Items on the car to complete the illusion include gun turrents, jet exhast, side jet pods and a simulated induction system. The car is finished in Dupont Fireprisim Chromalusion that allows the car to change color. The T-bucket is a 3/4 scale body with a plastic motor with simulated exhast and a bedliner interior. NOTE: ALL THE ABOVE WAS DESIGNED, FABRICATED, CONSTRUCTED, AND PAINTED IN HOUSE BY PKG.
PKG does all kinds of speciality stuff from a Shoneys big boy restoration, to custom painted golf carts, or custom store displays as seen below.
The vehicle you see below is one of the latest creations out of the PKG. It belongs to T.K. Thompson, the owner of the Pie Wagon from a few months back. It started life as a 1929 roaster pickup. We were asked to make a rat rod with an outhouse in place of the bed. Strange as it seemed we were not going to back away from this challenge. This was a complete build with the chassis by Cherokee. The body was in pieces and the outhouse was built from scrap. with wood from an old barn. This is a complete new vehicle, designed to look aged and weathered including the motor. The seat is a porch swing with Jethro seat belts. The Grill shell is Case tractor, engine is a fauxtina Rocket 88. This truck would make Jed Clampet proud. Thanks agian T.K. for letting us use our imagination on this project.
HeHere it is the newest addition to the T.K. Thompson stable. A car hauler to tote the Outhouse car the PKG built last year for him. This hauler started life back in Kentucky and hauled antique cars for a chevy dealer named Wayne Dunn back in the 50's and 60's. Somehow it made its way south and T.K. ran across it. The PKG was asked to leave the Hauler as it was found, but add a modern drive train, neaten her up a bit, make everything work for saftey reasons and seal her with a coat of flat clear to preserve the Patina. T.K.s Outhouse made it into the top 50 out of 1500 cars at the NHRA hotrod reunion 2009.
